FAQ

How much does editing cost?

You can use the calculator on the Services page to get the best estimate. Alpha reads, coaching and proposals are quoted per project, and you will see the price before you commit, no call required. And I offer a sliding scale for writers who need it, because good editing should be reachable.

Can I try you before committing?

Yes, twice over. Every engagement starts with a free half-hour call, and I edit up to 5,000 words free so you can feel how I work before you decide anything. It matters that you resonate with my style of feedback before you spend a dollar.

Assessment or developmental edit - what's the difference?

Both start with a complete read of your manuscript and end with an editorial letter giving a full rundown of my feedback. The developmental edit adds detailed in-line comments throughout and includes an hour-long editorial call (this is where the real magic happens, I find); the assessment stays at the big picture, what to fix in what order and why, for authors happy to tackle revisions independently.

Do you work with first-time or self-publishing authors?

Gladly! Whether you're starting your first book or refining it for the hundredth time, and whether you're aiming for a traditional deal at one of the Bigs or carving your own path with self-publishing.

How do we get started?

Send the form above or book a free intro call, and tell me about the book: genre, rough word count, where you're stuck.
