At Edge of August, I offer a range of personalized editorial services to help you elevate your writing, whether you’re just starting out or polishing your final draft.
Below, you’ll find the services I provide, along with estimated pricing—because I believe in transparency. Pricing varies because manuscripts do— some may need longer turnaround times and others may need more heavy lifting— but my base rate is shared below.

What I Offer
Perfect for writers who want a clear, big-picture evaluation of their manuscript without the line-by-line detail. I’ll read through your entire manuscript and provide a detailed letter highlighting the strengths, areas for improvement, and an overview of your characters, tone and style, plot, world building, and pacing. This will give you the guidance to take your revisions to the next level, and is a detailed guide to work from in order to elevate your manuscript.
I charge a base rate of 3 cents/word.
For writers ready to dig deep. This is my most comprehensive service, focusing on big-picture elements like structure, character development, pacing, voice, and overall narrative flow. You’ll receive in-depth feedback throughout your manuscript, with tracked changes, line edits, and comments throughout, helping you refine your story to its fullest potential. you'll also receive an in-depth editorial letter and we'll have a one hour editorial call to help arm you for the editing trenches. It’s a detailed roadmap for turning your draft into a truly exceptional book.
I charge a base rate of 4 cents/word.
Writing can be a long journey, but you don’t have to go it alone. I’ll offer regular support and guidance throughout your writing process. From setting goals to giving feedback on chapters as you write, we’ll work together to ensure you stay on track and motivated. Coaching is customized to your needs, whether you’re outlining your first book or revising your final draft. Book coaching is my most tailorable service and I'm more than happy to work with the author to find how I can be of most benefit to them and their story. This is a great service for someone who is feeling like they need that extra boost of collaborative effort to develop their book—whether that be in the first draft, the second or the twenty-second, coaching is a great recurring service to save time (and draft numbers) and get a book publishing ready. You'll be receiving developmental edits for each session, and the amount of words you want to do month-to-month is completely tailorable to you.
A monthly meeting at 10k words a month is $450
Nonfiction proposals are a unique challenge, but with my experience, I’ll help you craft a proposal that will capture the attention of agents and publishers. I have a record of creating NYT Bestselling Nonfiction book proposals that have garnered several 7-figure advances, and the proposals I was trained in creating are widely considered some of the best in the business. This includes sections like: Keynote & Summary, Market Analysis, Highlights and Takeaways, Promotion & Publicity, Bio, and a full Annotated Table of Contents. We’ll make sure every section of your proposal reflects your expertise and vision to help you secure the agent of your dreams.
